Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity
We are looking for an NZ Registered Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy Acute Medical Team as a static physiotherapist within Haematology. This role is based at Auckland City Hospital and is a permanent, full-time role.
In this role you will carry a clinical caseload, providing comprehensive and evidence-based care to Haematology patients undergoing Stem Cell Transplant within the inpatient setting. As part of the acute medical team, you may also have the opportunity to learn and cross over within other specialities including Oncology, General Medical, Respiratory, Cardio-thoracis and the Adult Emergency Department.
In addition to the above this role will also see you performing the below duties:
- Provide a comprehensive service to our Haematology patients including running of our weekly haematology exercise class.
- Play an active role in quality improvement, staff, and service development within the Haematology service.
- Work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary environment
- Participate in our weekend and on-call roster
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- New Zealand registration as a Physiotherapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Experience level: Ideally have 3+ years post-graduate experience
- Experience working in the hospital setting with experience within haematology desirable.
- A flexible, pro-active and can-do approach with experience supporting staff and students
- Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
- Evidence of establishing and developing working relationships within the wider MDT
- Effective time management, prioritisation, and organisation skills
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to provide culturally safe care in the acute hospital environment
