As Senior Medical Officer at McKinlay Shire Multipurpose Health Service, based at Julia Creek, you will be at the heart of the Julia Creek community.
Permanent full-time role - negotiable roster with part-time arrangement considered.

About the role
Your primary role will be as the sole doctor providing clinical care for the community. As such you will be seeing patients across clinical settings: in a primary care clinic; in the Emergency Department; as in-patients on the ward; and as aged care residents.
It's a chance to experience the incredible variety offered by rural and remote healthcare and see patients in acute and community settings.
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- Current registration with or/eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- The applicant will hold:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP)
- Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP)/Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners – Rural Generalist (FRACGP-RG)
- Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM)
- The position may require the incumbent to be rostered outside of “ordinary hours”, with fatigue and afterhours support via telemedicine when required.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Aged Care / Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
