About us:
Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to prisoners in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC), Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) and prisoner workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1028 male prisoners within CCC and CCF. The needs of this client group vary widely and COHS requires a flexible system that responds to urgent/non-urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventative health needs.
Prisoners can access appropriate primary care and emergency care equivalent to standard of that of the general community. COHS currently operates from a primary health care model for service delivery with a multidisciplinary team from the time the prisoner enters the system, through transfers to other facilities, and to their release into the community.
About the role:
- Practice in accordance with any applicable code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within the scope of the position.
- Undertake clinical assessment and working with the inter-professional team to deliver holistic care patients and their families of the CQ Health.
- Provision of nursing care that meets all relevant competency and professional practice standards relevant to the position.
- Deliver a high standard of patient care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation by using clinical nursing/midwifery expertise.
- Respond appropriately to sudden alterations in the health status of the patient using comprehensive nursing assessment and intervention skills.
About you:
- Hold a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

- An hourly rate between $51.33 - $65.84 p.h. (including 25% casual loading)
