About the role
Monash Health offers a unique Transition to Speciality Practice (TSP) program in Mental Health specifically designed to give Registered Nurses a safe and supportive transition to mental health practice. The program allows you to consolidate and build on your knowledge, skills, and confidence while being supported within the clinical settings.
This program facilitates your transition into mental health nursing by providing comprehensive specialist education and two six-month rotations at different locations within the Monash Mental health program. This will enhance your knowledge and skills to perform well in an area of high complexity and to feel confident, competent and valued. To support you further, this program includes a structured theory component.
Whilst enrolment in Postgraduate Mental Health Nursing is not mandated, if you enrol in the studies, you will be entitled for Study leave as per Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement and eligible for scholarships available via the department of health.
Throughout the duration of this course, participants in the program are encouraged to reflect and explore their own practice in relation to the theory they have learnt.
