Occupational Therapist

An opportunity exists in our large dynamic Occupational Therapist (OT) Department at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) to be a part of our flexible and responsive casual pool. There exists within the department a diverse range of clinical areas which may suit your current experience and/or provide an opportunity for exposure to new clinical areas.

Where you'll be working
Providing an Occupational Therapy service which is patient focused, contributing to and being a part of a positive team culture department wide.

What you'll be doing

To provide a high level of occupational therapy services to patients and clients.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Must hold registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  3. Proven ability to exercise professional judgement commensurate with years of experience and to establish effectively collaboratively working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team and inter-agency networks.
  4. Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.
  5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).
  6. Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of Occupational Therapy service to consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, environmental modifications, home modifications, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
  7. Commitment to participation in professional development, quality improvement activities and workplace education.
