Clinical Nurse Consultant/Specialist

Our Health Service is expanding!

We are looking for a Clinical Nurse to provide expert nursing services within the Lung Health Service, Chronic Conditions Service.

The Lung Health Service, Chronic Conditions Service operates Monday to Friday within the hours of 0630 to 1800hrs.

The Lung Health Service is a multidisciplinary team providing expert, quality, accountable care and education in respiratory nursing to patients of the Chronic Conditions Service across the care continuum.

This role is permanent part-time (40 hours per fortnight)

About the role

The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who provides expert nursing services within the Lung Health Service, Chronic Conditions Service.  The role will provide quality, accountable and expert nursing care in respiratory education and management to patients within a multidisciplinary chronic disease framework, across the care continuum and in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards and evidence-based practice.

The Clinical Nurse provides contemporary clinical leadership and care within a specific area supporting the general function of the service through the application of best practice principles, education, leadership and portfolio management in the application and role modelling of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Advanced clinical knowledge in the area of Respiratory Nursing, delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
  • A strong team commitment through ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level.
  • Ability to support and lead quality improvement and research initiatives within the work unit, contributing to the use of evidence-based practice to facilitate improved patient outcomes.
  • Ability to coordinate staff and manage delegated resources including prioritising needs and supporting day-to-day changes.
  • Honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff
