Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

We are looking for a passionate dynamic Clinical Nurse Consultant to lead our Child Youth and Family Health Services (CYFHS). CYFHS offers universal and early intervention community-based programs for families with children aged between birth and 18 years.

About the opportunity:

Position: Clinical Nurse Consultant

Vacancy: Permanent full-time

Location: Child Youth and Family Health, Kirwan Health Campus

The role of Clinical Nurse Consultant is to provide clinical skills development and, leadership, research and education within the multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of best practice in the clinical specialty within a continuum of care framework.

  • Salary range: $132,562 to $143,924 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Travel: Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities located within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service network to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities.
  • Highly Desirable:
    • Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
    • Completion of an immunisation course approved by Qld Health and the ability to complete Townsville HHS credentialing application for immunisation.
    • Proven experience within community child health o Working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, including the Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix and Power Point
