About the opportunity:
Position: Medical Director Cancer / Medical Director - Medical Service Group
Vacancy: Fixed term temporary part-time, various hours, 3 years
Location: Townsville University Hospital
The Service Group Medical Director is responsible for leading and managing a team of medical staff within the Service Group towards the achievement of the Townsville Hospital and Health Services vision of increasing the health and wellbeing of people in the Townsville community through the delivery of safe, effective and sustainable care. The role represents a key area of medical leadership, and will be expected to provide expert medical advice based on knowledge of contemporary medical models and best practice standards.

Requirements:
- Mandatory qualifications and current registration with/or eligible for current registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and holding qualifications in your Specialist field.
- A qualification encompassing advanced management skills is highly desirable.
- It is also a requirement of the position to participate in the on call rostering where necessary.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- Travel is a requirement of this position.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted criminal history clearance.
