Get paid to live in paradise and join Critical Care and Perioperative Services, ICU, Womens and Perioperative Services team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Patient Safety and Quality Officer). The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a registered nurse/midwife who provides expert advice and skills to achieve a devolved system of clinical governance which utilises systems for integrated risk management, service capability, continuous quality improvement and patient safety to meet national standards and to provide managers and staff with training and education on implementing quality, and patient safety systems to achieve safe, quality healthcare within a dynamic risk management framework.

About your role:

  • To monitor and report performance against quality and safety indicators and outcome measures to the Executive and Board.
  • Provide leadership, expert advice, and support to relevant Patient Safety and Quality forums, directors, managers and staff on patient safety, quality and risk management activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate teaching a wide range of patient safety, quality and risk education programs using recognised skills training methodology, in collaboration with the Nurse Educators and Medical
    Officers across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS).
