The role is to provide support to the clinical governance and management of the Electroconvulsive Therapy and Neurostimulation at Gold Coast University Hospital by demonstrating organisation and leadership skills and as well as utilise high level of clinical judgement when required.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mood Disorder Specialist Services) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Practice in accordance with relevant legislation, Acts and agreements, Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunities and antidiscrimination practices
- Assist the Nurse Unit Manager to monitor the updating, reviewing and reporting of a policy and procedures relating to nursing aspects of practice
- Provide direct clinical practice supervision as required
- Undertake a portfolio consistent with skill and practice level
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
- A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $132 562- $143 924 per annum
About Us
The service has an Electroconvulsive Therapy, Neurostimulation Services, and also Ketamine Clinic and Relprevv Clinic. The Specialist Mood Disorder Service provide a point of contact for referral and assessment. The CNC will support the NUM, providing leadership and oversight in the daily organization of these services.
