About the opportunity:
Position: Clinical Midwife Consultant – Supporting Healthier Pregnancies
Vacancy: Permanent full-time
Location: Child Youth and Family Health Service, Kirwan Health Campus
The CMC - Supporting Healthier Pregnancies position will be the facilitator of local change in preventive health practices and culture, working closely with antenatal care staff across models of care and service delivery models for sustainable clinical integration. This may initially involve establishing systems and processes for triaging from the new Self-Referral Portal.
- Preventive health practices during preconception and antenatal care period support women to have a healthier pregnancy and build stronger foundations for their own and their baby's future health, with potential for intergenerational impacts.
- These practices encompass risk screening, initial advice, and referral to ongoing appropriate support for a range of modifiable factors impacting the growth of the baby and long-term chronic disease risk for the mother and child such as tobacco/vaping, alcohol consumption and nutrition and physical activity behaviours, as well as psycho-social risks, and preventing and managing infections.

- Salary range: $132,562 to $143,924 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Midwifery/Diploma of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
- Travel: Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities located within the THHS network to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities.
- Highly Desirable:
- Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in preventative health.
- NMBA - Endorsement for scheduled medicines for midwives.
