The primary focus of the service is to provide a range of public health initiatives that protect and promote sexual health and to provide quality preventative education, testing, treatment, and care to individuals infected or at risk of contracting blood borne viruses (BBV) and or Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the Sexual Health Service team. The primary focus of the service is to provide a range of public health initiatives that protect and promote sexual health and to provide quality preventative education, testing, treatment, and care to individuals infected or at risk of contracting blood borne viruses (BBV) and or Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- The role focuses specifically on STIs and BBVs, participating in clinical networks and working collaboratively with health care teams across the care continuum in an integrated model.
- Provide leadership in professional decision making through the application of advanced clinical knowledge and skills into Sexual and Reproductive Health and coordinate and participate in clinical practice delivery in the speciality.
- Coordinate, develop, implement, translate, and evaluate clinical practice standard guidelines, procedures and protocols using an evidenced based approach.
Temporary Full time or part time position for 10 months
Remuneration value comprising salary between $5,081.10 - $5,516.60 p.f. (f/t) or salary rates: $66.85 - $72.58 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 7) (temporary full or part time position available for ten months, hours negotiable).
