The Medical Assessment Planning Unit (MAPU) are looking for a Nurse Educator to join their team. MAPU is a 32-bed unit including 20 cardiac monitored beds and an echocardiography procedure room. The unit is aimed at improving efficiency in the admission process for unplanned acutely ill medical and cardiology patients by providing assessment, care and treatment for a designated period of no more than 48-72 hours, prior to transfer to an inpatient ward or discharge home. MAPU provides comprehensive multidisciplinary patient-centred care, by dedicated teams of hospital staff linked with community-based professionals.

About the Role
- Accountable at an advanced practice level for the design, implementation, assessment and evaluation of MAPU and Secure Unit nursing education programs, managing educational resources and providing nursing expertise related to educational issues in meeting the strategic priorities of Nursing Services within Metro South Health (MSH).
- Lead and support a culture of development and enquiry which actively encourages and facilitates clinical, professional and organisational learning within a Supported Practice Framework.
- Demonstrate understanding and application of trending and benchmarking data and decision making and escalation to improve patient outcomes in relation to educational requirements.
- Utilises education to build capacity, capability, engagement and motivation of nursing teams to understand the importance of providing evidence informed care.
