Selection Criteria

  1. Current Nursing registration National Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA), and relevant postgraduate qualifications related to the specialty area (e.g. sexual health, women’s health, obstetrics and gynaecology and emergency medicine), with at least 3 years recent experience working in the specialty area or such other qualification or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
  2. Completed, be working towards, or commitment to enrol within 6 months in the NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence Graduate Certificate in the Medical and Forensic Management of Adult Sexual Assault (or equivalent).
  3. Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development of clinical management plans in consultation with health and social services.
  4. Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision-making and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated skills in the development and facilitation of patient/client and staff education in health settings as required, with a willingness to apply and share professional expertise as a resource person and mentor others within the specialty.
  6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, the ability to negotiate; and the capacity to collaborate with and influence health professionals.
  7. Detailed knowledge and understanding of the health impacts of violence abuse and neglect and evidence of leadership in safety and quality innovation.
  8. Willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position and ability to participate in an on call roster.
