GP Workforce and Liaison Director – Lead the Future of Rural Health

As the GP Workforce and Liaison Director, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping a dynamic medical workforce and building meaningful partnerships to support and grow the GP/Rural Generalist workforce across LCLHN.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting directly to the Executive Director Medical Services (LCLHN) and working closely with the Director Medical Services, to ensure delivery of all Medical Administration services related to the GP/Rural Generalist Medical Workforce at all LCLHN sites.
- Lead the growth, supervision, and management of the GP/Rural Generalist workforce.
- Foster strong lasting partnerships and further building key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with staff, medical officers, and executives to support the provision of safe, high quality service planning,community engagement and development of new service models to support the Local Health Network and its consumers. engage, and develop innovative service models.
- Lead strategic initiatives aligned with LCLHN’s goals and values, promoting patient-centred, culturally sensitive care.
- Drive workforce development, ensuring collaboration, communication, and optimal team culture across the workforce.
- Play a pivotal role with strategic direction, excellence in customer service and culturally aligned person-centred care.

The GP Workforce and Liaison Director, is responsible for leading and managing positive and strategic change in line with LCLHN values, whilst demonstrating a patient-centred approach in all aspects of your work. You will be at the heart of shaping and supporting a dynamic medical workforce across our Local Health Network, its consumers, and employees.
Responsibilities of your role include support and focus for growth and development of the GP/Rural Generalist medical workforce and its members to achieve optimal teamwork, collaboration, communication and culture to meet and exceed our organisational medical workforce goals.
You will play a crucial role in advancing the strategic objectives of the SA Government, SA Health, and our Local Health Network. Your insights and leadership will be instrumental in navigating the evolving landscape of workforce challenges and opportunities, ensuring our responses are both contemporary and effective.
In this pivotal position, you'll maintain a strategic vision while leading the medical workforce agenda with passion and precision. You'll oversee key portfolios, ensuring the consistent application of best practices in people management, and prepare our medical workforce for future changes and growth.

What we're looking for:
- Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) or equivalent, with specialist registration as a General Practitioner or Rural Generalist with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Strong leadership skills, with proven experience in clinical leadership and team management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities with the ability to act with integrity on sensitive organisational matters.
- Capacity to work under pressure and manage workforce challenges in a dynamic environment.
- Ongoing commitment to best practice medicine and quality improvement.
