About us:

The perioperative services as a whole include the Preadmission Clinic, Day Surgery Ward, Endoscopy Unit (Procedure Room), 5 Operating Theatres, Post Anaesthetic Recovery Unit (Recovery) and support is given to the Clinical Nurse in the Acute Pain Service.  The Preadmission consists of 6 consult rooms with a 10-chair waiting area.  Day Surgery consists of a 10 bed and 7 recliner open plan unit. The post Anaesthetic Care Unit has 9 bays which receives from 5 Operating Theatres, 2 Procedure Rooms as well as the MRI suite.  Both elective and emergency surgical patients are managed within the service.

About the role:

The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) is a Registered Nurse (RN) who is accountable at an advanced practice level for the coordination of meeting best practice standards for clinical practice, patient centred care within a multidisciplinary team for the Operating Theatres at Rockhampton Hospital through the provision of effective and efficient human and material resources.

About you:

  • Registration as a Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current practicing certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • While not mandatory, a relevant post graduate qualification would be well regarded.
  • Provide high standards of service delivery; provides service users with a positive perception of the work area by establishing and building effective and respectful partnerships.
  • Demonstrates advanced clinical evidence-based skill and knowledge in surgical nursing, service coordination and interdisciplinary care management, evidenced by feedback, recency of practice and achieved clinical competencies.
  • Demonstrated leadership proficiency through the articulation of team engagement principles and personal attributes that influence a positive team culture and achieve active collaboration across multidiscipline services.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
