This role will work within a team of several consultants, advanced trainees and advanced endoscopy Fellows in delivering comprehensive and high-quality gastroenterological services to patients
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Registrar or Principal House Officer (Endoscopy) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant
- Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers
- Participate and present at grand rounds, attend compulsory courses, and participate in on-the- job training in order to meet college requirements
- Supervise residents and interns
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- MBBS or equivalent qualification registrable with the Medical Board of Queensland AHPRA Registration
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time (up to 12 months)
- Base salary ranging from $4 966.90 - $5 758.70 per fortnight
About Us
The department of Gastroenterology currently has 23 Consultants, 2 advanced trainees and 4 Fellow positions. The department has three core subspecialities: Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Endoscopy and Hepatology, in addition to a comprehensive general Gastroenterology and Nutritional service.
The Endoscopy service currently works across two facilities; Southport and Varsity Lakes and provides tertiary level services to a catchment population of close to a million. The department currently offers about 15,000 procedures per annum.
