Registered Nurse

The Neonatal Research Nurse is responsible for, and assists in planning and implementing, clinical trials and research in the field of Neonatology in an acute inpatient setting (NICU). They will be working as part of an enthusiastic team of Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurses, Researchers and Obstetric staff to facilitate good evidence-based practice.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as Registered Nurse.
  2. Previous research experience with knowledge of ethical issues relating to the conduct of research involving human participants.
  3. Experience participating in a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care in an acute hospital setting. Preferred active clinical nursing experience in NICU.
  4. Computer literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Red Cap Database and CTMS (new clinical trials management system). High level knowledge of data retrieval systems including Powerchart, eMaternity, eMR, eRIC and the existing NICUS database.
