Registered Nurse

We are seeking Registered Nurses who have a passion for delivering high quality care within our Acute Medical Units and have a minimum of 12 months Acute Experience.

Gosford Hospital provides a wide range of acute medical services including Acute Stroke and Neurology, Renal, Oncology, Medical Assessment Unit, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Toxicology and Gastroenterology.

We are actively recruiting to both permanent and temporary vacancies, temporary vacancies ranging from 6-12-month contracts and we offer 8 & 10 hour rotating shift patterns.

We have current vacancies in:

C4 is a 32 bed Neurology Unit with an 8 bed Acute Stroke Unit.

Permanent and Temporary Positions are available

The dynamic staff on C4 are supported by a multidisciplinary team of neurologists, Clinical Nurse Educators, Clinical Nurse Consultants and therapists covering a wide range of neurological conditions, including acute stroke management and pathways, epilepsy, and neurodegenerative diseases.
Our Acute Stroke Unit is one of only three Platinum Status stroke units in Australia and has achieved Primary Stroke Unit Certification and has received multiple Angel awards from the World stroke organisation (WSO). The Stroke unit cares for patients who have had acute strokes and/or thrombolysis and post primary clot retrieval.

C5 is a Renal and mixed Medical Oncology unit consisting of 32 beds.

Permanent and Temporary Positions are available

The staff on C5 create a great environment to work in, working together with the Doctors and the Multidisciplinary team to provide the best patient focused care.
Staff are supported by an experienced NUM and Nursing team including Medical Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants, with varied educational opportunities offered including: Peritoneal dialysis, Central lines cares, management of drains and catheters, and managing complex patients. Staff education days on specialities are also offered throughout the year.
The unit encourages inclusivity of all staff with regular get togethers, a real highlight is the bring your cultures cuisine, staff even come in on their days off to eat!
C5 is a great and friendly place to work.

H3 is a 30 bed General Medicine ward with 28 beds funded as a Medical Assessment Unit (MAU).

Temporary positions are available

This rapid assessment unit ensures timely assessment and management of patients requiring hospital level care, focusing on a 72 hour short stay model of care to support patients to return to the community.
H3 has built a supportive, passionate team environment led by an experienced NUM and senior nursing staff, a dedicated clinical Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Consultant.
Staff are supported by regular Inservice training sessions and as a mixed wars H3 offers plenty of opportunities to advance your clinical skills and professional development.

Requirements

  • AHPRA and valid Australian work rights: You are currently residing in Australia and hold a valid AHPRA registration and have a minimum of 1 year working experience as a registered nurse, or you are a New Zealand citizen holding a current New Zealand Passport. (Please note we do not offer sponsorship)
  • Clinical Expertise: Proven track record in delivering exceptional patient care, especially in fast-paced acute care settings.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • A Growth Mindset: A commitment to continuous learning and improvement in patient care and clinical skills.
