About you:
Candidates must possess
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College for Emergency Medicine
• Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
• Be available for after hours and weekend clinical duties.
About the role
• Engage actively in policy development, care models, and education, supporting various healthcare professionals. Maitland ED, a busy Tier 2 ACEM training site with accreditation for Paediatric Emergency Requirement and Special Skills terms, handles 55,000 annual visits, serving a growing community and aiding rural sites via telehealth.
• Diverse patient cases including medical, surgical, orthopaedic, obstetric, and paediatrics which makes up approximately 25% of presentation

• Our newly opened hospital, inaugurated in January 2022, is designed to cater to current and future healthcare needs, prioritizing patient comfort and employing cutting-edge technology.
• Conveniently located near major transportation routes and facilities, Maitland Hospital is poised to address the healthcare demands of the burgeoning Hunter Valley region.
• An 8 bed Emergency Short Stay Unit opened in 2024, using an innovative and highly successful model of care
• The hospital offers general medicine, cardiology, medical oncology, level 5 intensive care, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and inpatient mental health services.
• Further plans are under way to soon open a dedicated MAU as well as expanding current inpatient geriatric and palliative care services
