An opportunity for a Psychiatrist to join the Eating Disorder Unit, a part of the North Shore Ryde Mental Health Service at Northern Sydney Local Health District is now available.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist and/or overseas trained substantial specialist pathways. Applicants expecting to be awarded their FRANZCP within 3 months may be considered.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing consumers with eating disorders and their families and carers, including the ability to advocate for the needs of consumers with eating disorders. Must hold strong knowledge of the complex physical health needs for consumers with eating disorders and ability to provide clinical guidance and intervention.
- The capacity for involvement in education, training, supervision and liaison across a variety of professional disciplines and settings.
- Understanding of and commitment to the NSW Service Plan for People with Eating Disorders 2021-2025 (NSW Health)
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team environment. This includes experience in liaising with and working closely with GPs, consumers and carers with demonstrated understanding of the recovery and care coordination models of care.
- Demonstrated commitment and experience of providing input and support to complex care service model design, development and review with a range of clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
- Current NSW driver's license and willingness to travel across multiple sites within NSLHD for work purposes
