To be successful, you will have...

  • Eligibility for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective nursing leadership and advanced clinical skills relating to Emergency Nursing, High Dependency, General Nursing, Midwifery or Theatre in an environment of change and evolution of service delivery.
  • Demonstrated evidence of effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills including conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated coordination of human, physical and financial resources for the delivery of cost-effective quality nursing care.
  • Demonstrated understanding of continuous quality improvement programs and risk management.

Position Profile:

The Clinical Nurse Manager After Hours, Will provide clinical leadership and professional consultancy to after-hours nursing staff within Derby Hospital. Plans, organises, directs, and coordinates all work arrangements and functions that fall under his / her jurisdiction to ensure that a high level and quality of patient care is delivered at Derby Hospital.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).

Area Profile

WACHS Kimberley is the most northern health region of WACHS. The Kimberley region has approximately 200 Aboriginal communities, over 34 different Aboriginal language groups and 45 percent of the population are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. WACHS Kimberley consists of six hospitals, an inpatient mental health unit, three Community Directorates and a Corporate Office. WACHS Kimberley provides hospital, community health, public health, remote area health, community aged care, and mental health services across the region through a dedicated team of medical, nursing, Aboriginal health, allied health, and support staff.
