An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Aboriginal Recovery Engagement Officer to join the Broome Mental Health Team, at the Broome Community Recovery Centre (BCRC).

Position Profile

The Aboriginal Recovery Engagement Officer is a vital part of the BCRC team.  They provide cultural and organisational leadership and expertise to fellow staff and others who deliver programmes at the centre, including facilitators from external community agencies. 

The role is responsible for coordinating, designing and delivering Recovery programmes and education at the BCRC. The position supports the coordinator, assisting with centre administration, team leadership, and reporting and evaluation.

The successful applicant will be someone with a diverse skill set, and who has interest in growing as a leader in the Aboriginal Mental Health, Lived Experience and Recovery development and education spaces.  

About the Centre

Broome Community Recovery Centre (BCRC) is part of the Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service (KMHDS). The team at the centre deliver Recovery based programmes and supports in Broome, for people with lived experience of mental health challenges, and their carers and families. BCRC also works to deliver Recovery based education and development opportunities to services and the wider community, and partners with other organizations to support local Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) initiatives.

BCRC incorporates personal Recovery principles of inclusion, connectedness, hope and optimism in all operations, programmes and activities.
