Our Wellbeing Team is looking for a Social Worker or Psychologist to join their busy and rewarding team as a Psychosocial Support Officer!

The Staff Wellbeing Team is committed to improving the work experience by implementing evidence-based strategies and interventions that support excellence in patient care. By prioritising staff well-being and empowering our workforce to thrive, we aim to create a positive and supportive environment, ultimately ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.

About the role:

The Psychosocial Support Officer plays a pivotal role in addressing the psychosocial needs of staff through both proactive and reactive measures, applying specialised expertise to offer comprehensive support throughout the organisation by -

  • Delivering applied psychosocial practice and research methodologies to enhance staff wellbeing, encompassing areas such as education, communication, work-life balance, and team-building initiatives
  • Support Divisions/Units/Teams in developing their wellbeing portfolios and facilitate the sharing of ideas, resources, and materials. Contributing to the formulation and achievement of team goals and objectives
  • Identify and implement strategies to address barrier to staff wellbeing and participate in staff development sessions, education, and orientation specific to staff wellbeing where appropriate.
  • Assisting in the delivery of SALHN Wellbeing Plan

About you:

  • Proficient in counselling, group work, and psychological strategies with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working in a clinically oriented multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated psychological ability to work in a difficult and emotionally demanding area of professional practice
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable and responsive to initiating organisational and operational change.
