What's involved – The Clinical Nurse – Child Health and/or School Based Youth Nurse is responsible for delivering quality nursing care at an advanced level in accordance with the principles of primary health and wellbeing in child, youth and family health.
These roles are expected to deliver culturally appropriate best practice health care and improve health outcomes for clients referred to the Child and Family Health and School Based Youth Health Services.
A clinical nurse is expected to work at an advanced level with minimal supervision.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other health professionals, government, non-government and community agencies to enhance continuity of care for children, young people and their parents/caregivers.
The nature and size of the CWHHS requires the successful candidate to work within both portfolios with increased support provided if they do not hold post graduate qualifications in both portfolios. As such, this role is accountable for facilitating the development of partnerships and working collaboratively with young people, their families, the school community, and other services and agencies to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion programs and activities to address child and youth health issues and to improve access to health services.
