South Australian Voluntary Assisted Dying Care Navigator Service (SAVAD-CNS) provides care coordination, education and support for South Australian people accessing voluntary assisted dying (VAD) as they live with a life limiting illness.

About the role:

This role is integral to supporting and guiding access to VAD services within South Australia. Duties for the role will include:

  • Providing clinical expertise for patients, carers, family members, health practitioners and community who contact the service with enquiries about accessing the VAD pathway.
  • Working in collaboration with a person’s existing services and local service providers to ensure coordinated service delivery, provision of appropriate information and support in the area of VAD.
  • Acting as a role model and consultant to other health service providers (in both the South Australian metropolitan and regional areas), providing knowledge and clinical expertise in the area of VAD.
  • Collection and recording of data and information as required by the service, and support the establishment and ongoing development of the service.

About you:

  • To be successfully appointed as an RN3, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • To be successfully appointed as an AHP3, you must hold an appropriate Allied Health Professional degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of thediscipline specific registration board or professional association.

This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicant(s) will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
