What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) - Paediatrics at WSLHD plays a vital role in supporting paediatric services across multiple hospitals. This role focuses on clinical leadership, service development, and collaboration to enhance child health outcomes. Your responsibilities will also include:
- Providing expert clinical support to paediatric wards and emergency departments.
- Leading projects to implement ACI WCHN strategies across WSLHD.
- Developing and strengthens paediatric healthcare networks and services.
- Supporting staff education, skill enhancement, and policy implementation.
- Collaborating with state-wide paediatric health organisations and stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:
- Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
Selection Criteria:
- 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty/field with relevant postgraduate qualification or other qualification and experience which would be seen as relevant to this position (i.e. Master’s Degree). Current NSW Driver’s license
- Demonstrated ability to work within the frameworks of acute and primary health care service delivery
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice
- Demonstrated effective communication and conflict management skills and ability to work autonomously and within a Team
- Proven ability to consult, review, and develop, both new and existing policies and procedures within the Paediatric specialty and participate in planning, quality management and research with an extensive knowledge of good clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated Computer skills including word processing, presentation, spread sheet applications and clinical information systems
- Experience in developing and managing special projects
- Research & evaluation experience
