Where you’ll be working:
Wingham is a picturesque town located 329 km north of Sydney in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales. Situated on the Manning River, it’s a popular spot for water activities such as boating, canoeing, swimming, fishing, and water skiing. Wingham is also the gateway to the stunning Ellenborough Falls, the second longest single-drop waterfall in the Southern Hemisphere. Each October, the Wingham Music Festival celebrates local culture with performances from both emerging and established musicians. The town is a perfect base for exploring nearby natural wonders, including the panoramic views from Rowleys Peak lookout in Tapin Tops National Park.
Wingham Rehabilitation Hospital is set in a serene rural location and operates with a close-knit team of nurses, doctors, HealthShare staff, and security personnel. The hospital offers a holistic approach to care, delivering services in a planned and systematic way with the support of a multidisciplinary team. Providing inpatient care for up to 16 patients, as well as outpatient and hydrotherapy services, Wingham Rehabilitation Hospital acts as a vital link between acute medical services and community-based care. The hospital focuses on the reintegration of patients back into their communities, ensuring comprehensive rehabilitation and support throughout the process.
About the role:
We are looking for dedicated and passionate nursing professionals eager to expand their expertise in Rehabilitation Nursing. In this role, you will collaborate closely with patients and their families to establish personalised rehabilitation goals, providing essential care and support to help patients regain their health, independence, and quality of life. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment while making a meaningful impact on patients' recovery journeys.
To ensure a smooth transition into your role, a mandatory education day at Manning Base Hospital is required, followed by additional orientation sessions at Wingham Rehabilitation Hospital as needed. These sessions will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to deliver the highest standard of care.
