SALHN is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ICU Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our exceptional team at the Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide's metropolitan southern region.

About the role:

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, ICCU in this role you will play a crucial role in leading and supporting the nursing team in delivering outstanding care to our critically ill patients. Your responsibilities will include providing clinical leadership, ensuring adherence to best practice standards, fostering a positive team culture, and contributing to the continuous improvement of patient care. Duties for the role will include:

  • Promote continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other AN/MUM and the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent.
  • Assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in undertaking ward/unit/service management responsibilities, e.g. Performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring.
  • Reviewing and update policies and procedures in line with current practice.
  • Promote and implement strategies to support National Safety and Quality Health Services (NHQHS) Standards.

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Holds a recognised post graduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing
  • Registered Nurse with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
  • Demonstrated competence in Critical Care nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards
  • Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
