About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Medicine team as a Clinical Nurse - Safety & Quality, where you will be responsible for:

• Integrate contemporary information and evidence with personal experience to support the decision making, innovative thinking and objective analysis that are expected at this level.
• Use available information systems to inform decision making; monitor and coordinate processes for quality improvement; ensure safety and quality is not compromised; contribute to evaluating outcomes and convey information to staff when required.
• Contributes to the implementation and monitoring of clinical procedures and procedural compliance.
• Supports the review of incidents and accidents arising within the Division, with a focus on prevention and reduction of incidents and accidents.
• Utilise a variety of communication techniques and media to positively engage stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse.
• Ability to be creative, innovative, and flexible when approaching issues within the healthcare setting.
• Highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics, and competency standards.
