About the Role

Are you a dedicated General Practitioner or Medical Consultant passionate about providing exceptional care? We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate General Practitioner or Geriatrician with interest in geriatric care to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality clinical care across a range of settings, including sub-acute, ambulatory, and community-based services. Your expertise will contribute to care of the older adult in a subacute environment following their acute admission who are on an residential aged care trajectory. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. This role also offers the opportunity to engage in teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives, making a lasting impact in the field of geriatric medicine.

Collaboration is at the heart of this position. You will work alongside senior medical professionals, junior staff, allied health and nursing teams, and administrative personnel to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care. Engaging with internal stakeholders, and various hospital units, you’ll play a key role in enhancing service integration. Additionally, you will develop strong connections with external care providers to improve patient access and support continuity of care. About You

We’re looking for a highly skilled and passionate Specialist General Practitioner or Geriatric Medicine Consultant to join our team. To excel in this role, you will bring a strong clinical background, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. You will also have a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams and a dedication to teaching and research.

  • Specialist Qualifications & Experience – Must be eligible for registration as specialist General Practitioner or a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Board of South Australia. Experience in geriatric medicine, including experience in residential aged care and dementia services is essential.
  • Leadership & Communication Skills – Proven ability to supervise, train, and mentor staff while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues, patients, and the wider community.
  • Commitment to Education & Research – Demonstrated experience in undergraduate teaching and research, with an interest in continuous learning. Experience in report writing, publications, and community liaison is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of Best Practices & Safety Standards – A solid understanding of quality improvement principles, public sector management, and workplace safety standards, including risk management and Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.
