About us:
Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to Prisoners in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC) and Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) including workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1028 male Prisoners within CCC and CCF. The CCC receives and transitions Prisoners on release from and to geographical locations north to Mackay; south to Gladstone, east to Capricorn Coast; and west to Central Highlands.
The needs of this client group vary widely and the COHS requires a flexible system that responds to urgent/non-urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventative health needs. Prisoners can access appropriate primary care and emergency care equivalent to standard of that of the general community. COHS currently operates from a primary health care model of service delivery, with a multidisciplinary team, from the time the Prisoner enters the system, through transfers to other facilities, and to their release into the community.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse Opioid Dependence Treatment (CN ODT/OST) will work in partnership with community-based Alcohol and Other Drug services, ODT private providers and internally with the COHS multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide assessment and treatment as well as education and health promotion to the Prisoner community at the Capricornia Correctional Centre.
About you:
- Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
- Proven experience within Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (AODS) with Opioid treatment program experience is desirable.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
