Orange, located in the Central Western Tablelands of NSW, offers a unique blend of rural living and modern city culture. The Orange Health Service Social Work Department operates across the Orange General Hospital and Bloomfield Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol Campus. This position is ideal for Social Workers seeking a "tree change" to join a dynamic rural department.
The Senior Social Worker - Psycho-Oncology Counsellor provides psychosocial assessment, counselling, and complex psychological support to cancer patients, carers, and relatives in the Western NSW Local Health District. This role is integral to the multidisciplinary cancer care team.
The successful applicant will collaborate with the Senior Oncology Social Worker to support the psychosocial care of patients, carers, and relatives. The role covers a large area, including Forbes, Parkes, Cowra, and Molong, with travel arrangements provided. As a Level 4 Senior Social Worker, there is an opportunity for supervision and development of social workers in oncology practice.
