Gladstone Hospital's Critical Care Program provides a six-month backfill opportunity that includes rotations through various critical care areas in the Perioperative Department. This opportunity aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of successful applicants in patient assessment, the recognition and management of deteriorating patients, and general nursing management in a specialised critical care setting.

About us:

The Perioperative Unit is located in block seven of Gladstone Hospital. The Gladstone Hospital has two operating rooms and a procedure room. Services include elective and emergency surgery, Day Surgery, Pre-Anaesthetic Clinic, and Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD). The Perioperative Unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standards involving ongoing research in clinical applications.

About the role:

Gladstone Hospital's Critical Care Program offers a 6-month secondment with rotation through critical care areas of the Perioperative Department, enhancing the successful applicants' skills and knowledge in patient assessment, recognition and management of deteriorating patients and general nursing management of patients within a specialty critical care environment. 

About you:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • While not mandatory, a minimum of 1 year nursing experience is preferred.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $101,665 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.73 - $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
