About the opportunity:

Position: Nurse Practitioner - Paediatric Diabetes/Endocrinology

Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 68.4 hours per fortnight

Location: Paediatric Services, Townsville University Hospital

The NP - Paediatric Diabetes/Endocrinology will take the lead for Adolescent and Young Adult (Transition) clinics utilising existing frameworks and curriculum within the broader multi-disciplinary team.

This includes establishing the service, using contemporary evidence-based models and multi-modalities to achieve improved outcomes for this cohort.

  • Salary range: $75.27 to $78.59 p.h. (Nurse Grade 8)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

Requirements:

  • Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • A Nurse Practitioner will be required to complete THHS credentialing at commencement of their role, it is then a requirement to be completed three yearly. 
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
  • Travel: Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities in an outreach model to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. Travel on small planes or ferry may be required. The successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role
