About the opportunity:
Position: Clinical Nurse Consultant Intellectual and Developmental Disability
Vacancy: Permanent part-time, 38 hours p.f.
Location: Specialist Services Team, Mental Health Service Group, Cambridge Street
This is a multi-disciplinary team with a combination of Allied Health, Nursing and Mental Health medical staff who will provide specialised clinical support to the Townsville and North West HHSs using a consultation-liaison model to offer assessment and management advice to the Mental Health Alcohol Other Drugs (MHAOD) and Health services supporting clients with co-occurring IDD and complex needs.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be highly desirable. If not AMHP – then willingness to undertake and complete the requirements for appointment.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.
- All employees of the Mental Health Service Group (MHSG) may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
