Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
An opportunity has become available for a qualified Pharmacist to join the Nepean Pharmacy team working within Palliative and Supportive Care on a Temporary Full Time basis. The Nepean Pharmacy Department provides a comprehensive pharmacy service to patients during their admission to hospital and for those attending outpatient clinics. The dedicated pharmacy team work collaboratively to provide medications in a safe and timely manner with a focus on patient-centred care.
The successful incumbent will provide professional pharmacy palliative care services, including medication regimen reviews, education of staff, dosage adjustments, opioid dose conversions, drug therapy monitoring, medication order reviews, adverse drug reaction management, clinical reviews, and medication counselling to promote quality drug therapy for patients under the care of the Supportive and Palliative Care Service.

What you will bring to the role
- Current unrestricted authority to practice as a pharmacist within the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with 3 years post registration Australian hospital experience, and current licence to drive in NSW.
- Demonstrated competence in current drug knowledge and a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy services (Palliative care or related preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated excellent organisational skills and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
- Ability to assess own performance and identify and act on personal learning goals.
