We have an exciting Permanent full-time opportunity for you to join our Communicable Diseases Branch located in Herston! This role will work collaboratively as a key member of the BBVSTI Unit leadership team, and with key stakeholders, to foster and maintain high functioning partnerships, deliver on strategic commitments, and support best practice local implementation of policies, programs and clinical responses.
The role
As a key member of the leadership team within the BBVSTI Unit, the Assistant Director of Nursing, Public Health Nursing (NG10) contributes to state-wide leadership and direction, authoritative and expert advice in the surveillance, prevention and control of communicable diseases, specifically blood borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections.
This role will contribute nursing leadership to the development, implementation and monitoring of clinical governance and workforce capability portfolios specific to the BBVSTI Unit's key deliverables.
The successful person
You will have:
- Demonstrated advanced capability in clinical policy, governance and risk management, as they relate to the development and implementation of BBVSTI programs.
- Demonstrated advanced nursing capability to drive and deliver major and complex priorities and objectives through developing and overseeing the implementation of local, regional, state-wide and whole of government activities.
- Demonstrated advanced nursing capability to undertake complex contact tracing and apply public health legislation and guidelines to prevent transmission of BBVSTIs and promote safe behaviours.
- Demonstrated ability to consult and provide comprehensive and authoritative advice and guidance on complex BBVSTI clinical, program and public health nursing workforce matters to internal and external stakeholders including government executives and peak organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to drive the assessment, development and implementation of government policy, strategies, protocols and priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff in line with contemporary human resource management practices.
