An exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary team at Brisbane Youth Service’s Fortitude Valley clinic!
Brisbane Youth Service are seeking expressions of interest for a part-time (one to two days per week/fortnight) GP to join our unique and expanding youth specific medical clinic located at the Fortitude Valley Hub.
The BYS medical clinic provides a youth-focused primary care medical service for vulnerable young people (aged 12-25 years), who often have complex health and social needs, including both diagnosed and unaddressed mental health issues, leading to difficulties navigating health care.
You will have wrap-around support from a dedicated team as you help young people, and their children, address a cross-section of clinical health issues.

SELECTION CRITIREA
- Understanding of health issues affecting young people experiencing, or at-risk of, homelessness with knowledge around mental health, sexual and reproductive health, blood borne viruses, oral health and alcohol and other drug use.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with vulnerable young people, who may be transient and demonstrate challenging behaviours.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and use sound professional judgement in clinical matters.
- Ability to advocate on behalf of young people and to develop working partnerships with other relevant agencies.
- Understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health needs and culturally appropriate practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary clinical Team.
