About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS team as a Clinical Psychologist, where you will be responsible for:

  • Provide clinical expertise for children, adolescents, and families with mental health issues within the framework of national policies and standards.
  • Conduct assessments, education, counselling, and group work to promote consumer health and recovery.
  • Collaborate with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organizations
  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team And utilize expert clinical knowledge, skills, and experience to support and educate staff.
  • Lead and participate in action research projects, quality improvement activities, and policy development.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Hold a relevant Master's degree recognized by the PsyBA, or provisional registration, complying with all PsyBA requirements, including supervision and practice restrictions.
  • Completion of Master’s Degree requirements within 6 months of commencement of position (Provisionally Registered).
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, displaying a high degree of responsibility and initiative with limited supervision.
  • Possess clear and articulate communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring clarity and comprehension in all interactions.
  • Skilled in providing supervision and support to post-graduate students during their placements, aiding in their professional development.
  • Extensive clinical experience in treating complex mental health issues in children and adolescents, showcasing expertise in assessment and intervention.
  • Proven track record of effectively implementing clinical assessments and interventions for individuals and families, utilizing a diverse range of theoretical models.
  • Experienced in collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and establishing effective partnerships with external agencies and professional groups.
