We are currently recruiting to a temporary part-time eight (8) hours per week position at Wollongong Hospital. This is leave cover from 9 September 2024 to 8 August 2025 with the possibility of extension.


This position is ideally worked as a full weekend every second weekend (7.30am - 4.00pm Saturday and Sunday). This position co-ordinates the weekend physiotherapy team and is consulted on complex patients across the Intensive Care Unit, High Dependency Unit and the wards.

What you'll be doing

Providing a high quality specialist physiotherapy service to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced reasoning and practice skills and operate autonomously with minimum direct clinical supervision.

Planning, coordinating and implementing high levels of clinical expertise and specialised knowledge in their specialty to patients and carers of ISLHD in accordance with NSW Health, ISLHD and physiotherapy policies and procedures and standards.

Providing clinical supervision and support of Level 1 and 2 health professionals, technical and support staff, students and other staff as appropriate.

Participating and assisting with the planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting on clinical services.

Providing a consultative role within their area of expertise. May conduct clinical research. Participate in the provision of clinical in-service education programmes to staff and students.

May have an operational/supervisory role under the direction of the ISLHD Physiotherapy Head of Discipline or delegate and may be required to manage specific tasks or projects.

May be required to work across other sites within the District.

  4. Demonstrated commitment and evidence of implementation of ISLHD core values.
  5. Knowledge and proven ability to undertake quality improvement and service evaluation processes.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Demonstrated ability to provide senior level of supervision to staff and or students.
  8. Current NSW drivers licence or equivalent.
