As a clinical expert, the MET Coordinator has a responsibility to ensure best practice, act as a resource person and initiate and participate in education programs. The position will participate and contribute to reviewing clinical emergencies and will oversee CERS data collection within the organisation. Additionally, the MET Coordinator will provide and submit regular reports of CERS activity to local and district committees and seek to establish systems to improve performance of Critical Care Services at Fairfield Hospital.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.|

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated senior nursing experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting and post registration critical care experience.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of Rapid Response Systems, including Medical Emergency Team, Clinical Reviews and Between the Flags
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership as a resource person and role model in the clinical setting through the development of professional relationships.
  5. Demonstrated ability to utilise a broad range of communication skills in a variety of settings, ensuring that you can effectively represent nursing and midwifery, and collaborate with staff and other health professionals for the best outcomes of the service.
  6. Demonstrated ability to acquire and utilise sound and contemporary knowledge and apply to nursing and midwifery professional practice, service planning and management strategies.
  7. Demonstrated ability to monitor performance for both individuals and teams. This includes the ability to undertake a range of performance management activities, data collection and report writing.
