The Specialist Palliative Care Service is based on the Long Jetty Health Care campus and requires a permanent full time dynamic and motivated RN to work across the Central Coast.

About You

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
  • Extensive experience in a clinical setting relevant to Palliative Care and commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and sound written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Where You’ll Be Working

The RN role is required to provide clinical care across different locations, including with hospital patients referred to our consultation service, working in Intake/Triage or based in the community seeing people at home or in RACFs. Work hours are mostly 0830 to 1700 Monday to Friday. We also have one shift working 1200 to 2030 Monday to Friday, which is covered by most staff on a rotation basis of 1-2 shifts per week every few weeks or so. Our Service also works day shift hours on the weekend, and staff are usually allocated a weekend every 4-5 weeks only, depending on staff leave or roster patterns. The role works with other multidisciplinary team members to support clients and their families through to End-of-Life care and death. The position is varied and interesting and requires a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and eMR. Solid communication skills, relevant clinical experience and strong problem-solving abilities will contribute to the position's success. A solid individualised orientation program is provided for new Team members, where you will learn all aspects of the role. We are a small multi-disciplinary team who works collaboratively to support patients and families across the Central Coast.
