Where you'll be working


Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing


To provide a high level ultrasound and imaging service to the women presenting to Westmead Institute for Maternal & Fetal Medicine(WIMFM).

WIMFM is the tertiary/quaternary fetal diagnostic and therapeutic facility of Westmead Hospital. It provides interventional procedures such as amniocentesis, chronic villous sampling and inutero fetal transfusions in addition to high level diagnostic ultrasound. We are seeking an experienced applicant with an interest in maternal fetal medicine, research and quality care. The position also requires the skills to train others in ultrasound techniques.

Essential Criteria

Qualification: Graduate Diploma Medical Sonography/Medical radiation scientist or equivalent
Registration: Sonographers Accredit at ion Registry (ASAR)

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in providing obstetric sonography services
  2. Demonstrated interest and/or experience in ultrasound research.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills including an ability to communicate with families in stressful situations
  5. Demonstrated sound understanding and commitment to high quality patient care.
  6. Demonstrated computer proficiency including PACS systems, Microsoft word, excel, outlook, internet and patient management systems/databases.
