What you'll be doing

To develop strong and effective stakeholder and community partnerships. To provide high quality, contemporary health education and health promotion programs to Government and NGO sector staff, community groups, and identified populations. To develop and maintain ISLHD Drug and Alcohol Service’s public webpage and other social media platforms. To ensure the provision of evidence based health education programs and messages consistent with NSW Health and ISLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.

This position provides the above service to the ISLHD Drug and Alcohol Service.


This is a temporary full time leave relief position until 18 May 2025 with the possibility of extension.

Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualification in Health Promotion, Education, Psychology, Social Work or other relevant behavioral science, or relevant experience.
  2. Demonstrated superior skills/experience in group work, community development and the provision of health education programs.
  3. A demonstrated understanding of alcohol and other drug issues, and the harm minimisation philosophy.
  4. A proven ability to develop, implement and evaluate programs in a health related field and with an array of consumer, community groups and service providers
  5. Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and to develop and sustain strategic partnerships.
  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing with consumers, community groups and various levels of management.
  7. Ability to undertake flexible working hours, evenings and weekends as required.
  8. Current NSW Drivers Licence, with the ability to travel in accordance with position responsibilities.
