What you'll be doing
A Sleep Scientist is responsible for the provision of high quality patient care. They are expected to possess knowledge in the procedures,methodology and theory pertaining to sleep study testing and take responsibility for routine diagnostic and treatment (including CPAP and non-invasive ventilation) procedures performed.
  1. Degree in a Science related discipline or such qualifications as the employer deems equivalent (e.g.Engineering, Life sciences etc.)
  2. Previous or current hospital experience working within the field of Sleep Medicine in a Paediatric setting
  3. Clear understanding of AASM scoring guidelines, ability to follow centre specific scoring guidelines with extensive experience in scoring/analysis of sleep studies
  4. Experience working as a Sleep Technician performing sleep study setup, computerised sleep monitoring using the Compumedics and Nox systems, and PAP titration of patients overnight
  5. Experience with initiation and management of patients on CPAP and non-invasive ventilation therapy within the home setting
  6. Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
  7. Proven ability to work independently and with other team members and as part of a multidisciplinary team
