Essential Requirements:

1. Qualification: Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)

Selection Criteria:

1. Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW.
2. Demonstrated experience and skills in counselling in palliative care or other clinical settings involving life limiting illnesses, including specialist knowledge of grief and bereavement processes.
3. Demonstrated experience and advanced clinical skills in comprehensive psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, individual and family counselling skills, complex case management, end of life care, advocacy, negotiation, and problem solving.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including conflict resolution skills and time management skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited supervision, apply independent professional judgement and high-level clinical reasoning skills, whilst working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Demonstrated experience and skill in clinical supervision and teaching of staff and students.
7. Demonstrated ability and experience in identifying areas for clinical practice improvement, developing and leading quality improvement activities.
8. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a social work and multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
