We are currently looking for a suitably experienced Nephrology Staff Specialist seeking a permanent role in Northern Queensland (Multiple positions available).

The North Queensland Kidney Transplant Service (NQKTS) will be dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art kidney transplantation to patients across an expansive catchment area covering five Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) in North Queensland. These encompass the Northwest region of Queensland, Cairns and the Hinterland, Torres Strait Island and Cape York, Mackay and Townsville.

As a Staff Specialist within this pioneering service, your responsibilities will include:

• Contributing clinically to the organisations management and provision of a comprehensive kidney transplant services, including providing kidney transplant outreach services, education, and training support. 


• Assisting with the organisations management and provision of Nephrology services at the University Hospital. 


• Providing specialist professional leadership to medical staff within the department, and to be an active contributor to the multidisciplinary patient care team. 


• Assist the Clinical Directors of Kidney Transplant and Nephrology to provide quality leadership based on evidence-based practices and by demonstrating and enabling adequate communication to all stakeholders along the patient’s continuum of care.

• Specialist Registration You will hold specialist registration (or be eligible to hold) with AHPRA. Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and registrable as a specialist in Nephrology with the Medical Board of Australia. 


• This position includes both dayshift and after-hours on-call for hospital duties. This position may be required to undertake shifts in an extended span of ordinary hours to meet clinical need. 


• Travel: This position may require the incumbent to work at other facilities within the THHS.

Attractive Relocation Package

Generous remuneration package value up to $522,648 p.a. comprising:

• Salary range of $204,206 to $258,910 p.a. (L18-L


• 27) 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading 


• 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. 


• Attraction and retention incentive allowance (35%-50% base salary) 


• Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary) 


• Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 p.a. 


• Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave Workforce 


• Attraction Incentive Scheme of $20,000
