Provide high quality clinical psychology services to people within the Gold Coast Health Service experiencing complex mental illness, including comorbid alcohol and drug concerns and other dual diagnosis issues including complex behaviours, utilising a strengths-based recovery focused framework to optimise psychosocial outcomes for consumers, their families, and carers.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist (Mental Health - Orchid Inpatient Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Utilise knowledge of psychology theories and frameworks in the delivery of clinical psychology services including assessment, diagnosis and treatment on referral from the multidisciplinary teams
  • Apply professional judgement to facilitate effective clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence across multiple clinical areas
  • Develop relationships and liaise appropriately within the broader organisation, and with external service providers, including government and non-government organisations
  • Provide clinical practice and operational supervision to students and less experienced staff

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree in Psychology
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent part time (up to 76 hrs p.f)
  • Base salary ranging from $38.70 - $56.89 per hour
