Physiotherapist

The Division of Allied Health and Rehabilitation are looking for a Physiotherapist to join their team. Rehabilitation services consists of inpatient, outpatient and community rehabilitation and persistent pain services for people with acquired brain injury (ABI), amputation, persistent pain, spinal cord injury (SCI) and other disabilities. Allied Health modalities support all services across the hospital and wider community. These services aim to improve patient outcomes focusing on supporting self-management and independence, improving functional outcomes and rehabilitation and reducing admissions and length of stay.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to deliver Physiotherapy services within the multidisciplinary In-reach Rehabilitation team, working within a shared care model to provide specialist rehabilitation services for inpatients in an acute setting.

This includes:

  • Detailed clinical assessment, patient education, therapeutic intervention and/or management and assistance with discharge planning within an interprofessional context.
  • Clinical education, supervision of observational students and allied health assistants, and assistance with supervision of undergraduate students.
  • Participation and contribution to quality improvement and research activities under the guidance of senior staff.
